PUPILS of  Weaver Primary School, in hi-viz waist coats, plant one of the apple trees donated by Cheshire Landscape Trust, in the Riverside behind Shrewbridge Road.

Supervising the planting of the tree is Doug Butterill, Chairman of Nantwich in Bloom (left).

The apple trees, which have names such as Lord Lambourne, St Edmund Russett and Newton Wonder, join those trees planted three years ago and will further improve the Riverside.

Also pictured are Rachel Fitzpatrick (extreme right) and Katie Lowe of Cheshire Landscape Trust; Gill Price, head of Weaver Primary School; and James Thompson of Greenspaces South Cheshire CIC.

The children plant a native wild flower, Purple Loosestrife, in the wild flower

meadow by the Serpentine Lake, off Shrewbridge Road.

Also pictured are Gill Price, James Thompson and

 David Smith (Nantwich in Bloom).
