FOLLOWING a successful day at the annual Societies Spectacular event in the town square (pictured) , Nantwich Litter Group has been pleased to welcome some new volunteers.
The group was encouraged by the response of the public to the stall which displayed pictures featuring volunteers at work and typical litter problems. There were also a number of pictures supplied by the RSPCA Wildlife Centre at Stapeley Grange showing graphic illustrations of the harm caused to domestic and wildlife animals by thoughtless disposal of rubbish.
Children enjoyed using grabbers to try their hand at capturing and bagging typical items of litter.
Several residents spoke to volunteers of their individual efforts in keeping their areas tidy. The litter group is constantly heartened by the activities of so many people who readily pick up and dispose of any offending items of litter. This is surely something that everyone can do and every little helps.

This was followed by a rest and welcome refreshments at The Boot and Shoe in Hospital Street.
