A blooming good effort

 August 2012

MEMBERS were out in force to help clean up the town ahead of the visit by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) judges for the national finals on Friday, August 3. (See also here)

Over two days, more than 20 volunteers were out with pickers and bags to clear litter from the outskirts of Nantwich and into the town Square.

The steadily-growing group also recently provided support to Nantwich in Bloom in preparation for the Britain in Bloom, North-West Regional judging and to Nantwich Town Council after the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

"Group Picks" organised by team leader Joyce Webb take place each month as well as on ad hoc occasions. Additionally individual volunteers work regularly in their own locality. Details of litter picks will be posted in What's On - General on this website.
