Car parks get a tidy-up

 October 2012

The team assemble at the Civic Hall

THE group were out in force to undertake a tidy-up of the town's car parks. Working in small teams, 21 volunteers spent about an hour filling 22 refuse bags which were later collected by Streetscape, Cheshire East Council's street cleansing team. Volunteers then enjoyed a coffee break and chat.

Group picks are proving a useful way of identifying problem litter spots and demonstrate that by working together residents can make a difference.

There will be a Litter Group meeting at Brookfield Council Offices open to everyone. Come and air your views. (This has, of course, now taken place).

New volunteers are always made welcome. Contact Joyce Webb on 01270 626435 or email Details of litter picks will be posted in What's On - General on this website.
