A NANTWICH LITTER GROUP PAGE

WITH a view to exchanging ideas relating to litter issues and the building of mutual support, a meeting of interested parties was held at Wheelock Hall Farm Cafe. Hosted by Nantwich Litter Group it was attended by representatives from Crewe Clean Team, Sandbach Clean Team, Middlewich Clean Team, Stapeley Parish Action Group, Wistaston Conservation Group and Streetscape, Cheshire East Council's Street Cleansing Department.

Topics discussed included the formation of local litter groups, organisation of litter picks, publicity through media and speakers, involvement of the community and fund raising.

The long-running success of Middlewich and Sandbach Clean Teams, headed by Janet Chisholm BEM and Dick McCauley respectively, provided useful encouragement for the more recently formed groups.

All groups acknowledged the ready assistance and co-operation received from Streetscape.

The meeting complimented Nantwich Litter Group on their nomination as a finalist in The Cat "Achievement of the Year" Community Awards 2013.
