NESTING boxes were put up on trees at Weaver
County Primary School, Nantwich, on July 9, when the pupils dressed in
green to mark a Green Day. The event was in support of Greenspaces South
Cheshire CIC which had just become a company.
The boxes had been produced by
students of the Countryside Department of Reaseheath College just
outside Nantwich - the main supporter of the |
|
successor organisation to
Nantwich Riverside Project.
Although each pupil is holding
a box for the picture, two were put up in the copse at the school with
the rest going to other schools and Nantwich Riverside later. The pupils
will be watching closely to see which birds take up residence in the new
boxes.
Crewe and Nantwich M.P., Edward
Timpson, dropped in at the school to support the Green Day,
|
|
and chatted
to the pupils about what birds they might expect to see.
James Thompson later called in
at Malbank School in Nantwich where staff and pupils have also offered
support for Greenspaces South Cheshire CIC, and Doug Butterill was due to
visit Acton C.P. School.
