Images remind homesick Charlotte of town

CHARLOTTE Stewart was feeling "terribly homesick" in Cumbria when she discovered this page of pictures of the area around Brine Leas School in 2008.

She sent a message saying "I moved to a village north of Brampton in Cumbria four years ago. I recently discovered your site and it has made me even more homesick for Nantwich than I was before!!!

"It is lovely to see the images of the town where I grew up and lived until my early 30s.

"Up here the place is dull, the local market town of Brampton does not even have a gift shop, nice cafe or decent clothes shop and Carlisle, the nearest proper town, is 20 miles away.

"As you will realise, I miss Nantwich so much. The people are so friendly compared to up here where nobody wants to know you unless

you are third generation of a family. Thanks so much for your site. It is lovely to see the old place."

She later sent a second message saying: "I spent five very happy years at Brine Leas up to 1985! I must say it is so strange to see all the housing developments in and around Nantwich on your site. They were just starting to build the Stapeley one when I left six years ago.

"When I managed to get back to Nantwich for a day some years ago, I could not recognise the developments around Malbank and it took me ages to work out where the old lane that ran between Malbank and the canal now went!

"I used to regularly walk that road with my doberman when I was at school and loved the fact that I could see Nantwich Parish Church across the fields. I assume that houses have now blocked that view."
